Early entry is now open for the 2025 Thistle National Championships taking place in Sandusky, Ohio from August 2nd through August 8th. The Women’s and Junior’s National Championship will occur on August 3rd. Early entry will be available until May 1st. Regular registration will run from May 2nd until July 1st and late registration will run from July 2nd until July 20th.

The regatta will take place at the Sandusky Sailing Club in the protected waters of Sandusky Bay. The Sailing Club is just a walk away from downtown Sandusky which offers delicious dining options, quaint shops, art galleries, and numerous attractions. Sandusky is also known for the world-famous Cedar Point Amusement Park known as the “roller coaster capital of the world”.

The Sandusky Sailing Club has a history of hosting successful national level events. In the last few years, they have successfully hosted the J24 North American Championships, Opti National Championships, and many other successful one design events.

The club hosted the Thistle National Championships most recently in 2013 when they won the St. Petersburg Yacht Club Trophy which is awarded to a local sailing organization for exceptional race management.
