Come for the racing, Stay for the party

A popular summer tourist destination, Block Island is about 9 miles south of mainland Rhode Island and 14 miles from the eastern extension of Long Island. While ferry service shuttles the bikers and hikers from several locations, Storm Trysail Club brings the sailors for Block Island Race Week.

Is Block Island Race Week on your bucket list? Or do you know someone who should bring their boat? Held biennially, the 2025 event is gearing up for its 60th birthday, and organizers want to make sure everyone can make the party.

Storm Trysail Club’s Block Island Race Week offers a wide range of racing options—Grand Prix, One-Design, ORC, or PHRF Cruising—making it accessible to sailors of all skill levels. But that just keeps you busy during the day before shifting to the tent for food, drinks, and lies from the racecourse.

To lower barriers, Storm Trysail Club is hosting a Zoom seminar with Race Chair Ty Anderson to give the insider’s view of the event. He’ll cover the logistics and racing options along with time for Q&A. The session will also be available for later viewing.
