In the fashion show of maxi racing, Wally Yachts standout with their blend of style and performance. Now their penchant for style and flair has been channeled into a new design which represents a new direction for the brand.
Introducing the wallyrocket51, conceived to be the fastest owner-driver monohull in the world while also designed to excel in IRC and ORC competitions. With a length of 15.5 metres (50.9 feet) and displacement of 6.3 tonnes (13,889 pounds), the design was realized in collaboration with Botin Partners.
The boat’s design seeks a rating bonus due to her length and features such as the trim tab to improve upwind lift while reducing drag, and has water ballast at the stern to enhance the stability and strength of the hull. With a design brief to combine fun, style, and performance at the highest level, Wally Yachts is entering space currently dominated by TP52 yachts. Is this a new chapter in the world of racing?
