Photographer Thierry Martinez shares this moment from the 2011 ZhiK Moth World Championship when Charlie Mckee found that when the bow plows, the wing suffers.
“I remember thinking, ‘I can save this’,” recalled Mckee. “Of course Thierry was right there to capture it; what a great shot.”
This was the first wing ever used in the Moth Worlds (built by Bora Gulari and George Peet), ultimately not proving to be better than the soft sail.
