With nearly 40 applicants, 24 teams were selected for the 6th edition of the Women’s Winter Invitational on February 17-18 in San Diego, CA. The rain held off as cool temperatures and 6-9 knot winds welcomed teams from across the USA along with Canada and Mexico to race in provided J/22s. Simone Staff’s Scuttlebutt Sailing Club team won the 75-race qualifying stage, but it was California Yacht Club with Derby White, Denise George, and Julia Rychlik (above) that best carried their momentum into the 3-race final to take the title. – Details
