One hundred ninety-three sailors competed in the 2019 Optimist US Team Trials held May 2-5 in Marina del Rey, CA. Used as a qualifier for international competition, Tommy Sitzmann edged out Samara Walshe by three points to top the standings. Competitors from Florida clubs took 13 of the top 20 positions.
